What does sedation dentistry mean?
Sedation dentistry is any dental procedure performed under conscious, or twilight sedation.
How is sedation dentistry different from sleep dentistry?
Unlike sleep dentistry, which involves full general anesthetic, sedation dentistry does not entail the risks and the extended recovery time that sleep dentistry does.
What are the risks of sedation dentistry?
There are few risks to sedation dentistry. We will perform a medical evaluation before any sedation dentistry procedure to ensure that you are healthy enough for sedation.
How long does it take to recover from the sedatives?
You will 'awaken' from your sedated state almost immediately after your procedure. You may feel drowsy for some time afterward, however, so we recommend that you do not drive yourself home following sedation.
