This is one of the last weekends before kids in our community head back to school, so now is a great time for one last summer hurrah! We’re looking at different events happening this weekend in our community, including a back-to-school fair for families! Shore Drive Farmers Market
This is the last weekend to check out the Shore Drive Farmer’s Market, presented by the Lynnhaven Coffee Company. The market is located at 2945 Shore Drive, and is open from 9am until 12:25pm on Saturday. Admission is free and the market features products from vendors like Veg Out Gardens, B&H Produce, Full Quiver Farms, and Gatuex’s Bakery. You can find so many fresh foods and artisanal products from local farmers and artists!
Summer Fest
Summer Fest is presented by CBDA Connect Uptown, and takes place daily from how through September 1st at the Town Center Fountain Plaza from 5:30pm until 8:30pm. Admission is free and the fest features performances from local musicians and more. There will be performances from bands like The Taylors, Doorway Singers, and Frank Sings Frank.
Petting Farm, Tree Walk, and More!
The Hunt Club Farm is presenting a Petting Farm, TreeWalk, and Bird Aviary for you and your family to enjoy! These are open daily and are located at 2388 London Bridge Road. These events are open from 10am until 6pm, and admission is $15 for all options. Pony Rides are an additional $10. This family-owned farm features 30 acres of fun for the entire family to enjoy. Be on the watch for the Harvest Fair and Haunted Hunt Club, which are happening soon. There are also guided tours, birthdays, and private parties, and more.
Swamp Kayak
You and your family can check out the Powhatan Creek Cypress Swamp Kayak and Brewery at 350 Independence Boulevard, open from 8:30am until 3:30pm daily. This is a round trip activity, and you should arrive at around 8am to 8:15am to board the bus. The price is $65 per person, but this also includes your kayak rental. Award-winning birding guide James Abbott will entertain and educate you for the bus ride, and a guide will take you through a cypress swamp. So much nature to see in this kayak trip, and it ends with food and drink at the Billsburg Brewery and The Hungry Pub Food Truck.
Back to School Fair
Get your kids ready to head back to school with this special fair located at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on 1000 19th Street, open from 10am until 2pm. You can find more information right here.
