Ahhhh, summer! Is there a better time to let the kids stay up later than usual (or maybe stay up later than usual yourself!) and get expert guidance while taking in the beautiful wonders of the night sky. If you are thinking “I can identify the moon, but not much else…” then you will surely benefit from the Night Skies program, hosted by the experts in the Virginia State Parks service! When Is The Night Sky Program?
This program takes place on July 28, from 8:00 until 11:00 pm.
Where is the Night Sky Program?
If you are coming to the Night Skies program, then meet at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge at 4005 Sandpiper Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456, to be transported into False Cape State Park. You can also enjoy both the park and the wildlife refuge on your own, at other times of the day. Spend some time gazing through the wildlife viewing window, or walk along the trails and explore other areas of the park.
Can I Just Show Up?
Reservations are required, but there is no cost to attend. To make reservations for yourself and family members, call 757-426-7128 and sign up.
Who Can Attend?
This is a family-friendly event, and children are welcome, if you are comfortable having them stay up a bit past their usual bedtime.
