DeWitt Cottage
DeWitt Cottage/Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum is in the top 25 things you can do in Virginia Beach according to TripAdvisor, and this is located on 1113 Atlantic Avenue. Entry is free and you can enjoy a history of bird hunting and art related to waterfowl. There are two interactive computer exhibits, and tons of original oil paintings and watercolors to see. You can also take in beautiful sculptures too! They’re open from Monday through Saturday 10am until 5pm, Sunday from noon to 5pm.
Surf and Rescue Museum
TripAdvisor ranks this museum number 12 out of 169 things you can do in Virginia Beach, and the entry is free! The museum is located in the Oceanfront district at 2401 Atlantic Avenue. The museum offers a complete history of the surf and rescue missions in the area. This is housed in a building that is on the National Register of Historic Places, and there are a ton of exhibits for you and your family to check out. Of course, there is a great gift shop too!
