What Event Is Being Hosted?
False Cape State Park is hosting a Sunsets and Stargazing event this Friday, February 21st, 2020, starting at 5 PM. The event will feature an open-air tram ride from the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge all the way to False Cape State Park, where you will be viewing the sunset and stars from a beautiful spot on the bay. You will learn about great places to see the sunset on the beach and how to identify constellations, making it an informative and lovely experience.
Where Will We Meet?
Everyone attending the Sunsets and Stargazing event will meet at the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge, located at 4005 Sandpiper Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23456. From there, you will be transported to False Cape.
What Will I Need to Bring?
Besides bringing your phone or camera to take gorgeous shots of the sunset, it is a good idea to bring something comfy to sit on and appropriate clothing for the weather.
What Happens If the Weather Is Bad?
If the weather is cloudy and not conducive to stargazing, you may instead take a night hike through the forest to learn about the area’s history and look for owls.
